WELCOME TO THE CASNI WEBSITE.
CASNI is the charity that helps other charities.
In 2013 we started the process to launch the very first Community Accountancy Service for Northern Ireland.
In 2014 we became a registered charity ourselves : NIC 100789.
Based in Derry City, our charitable objectives are to provide community accountancy support and services to registered charities, charitable companies and unincorporated voluntary groups pending NI charity registration.
We are here to support the effectiveness and efficiency of charities, or the charitable activities of voluntary organisations, through the provision of accounting and payroll services, plus training and help with management skills, to such organisations and to carry out any other charitable purpose which would support the voluntary sector within Northern Ireland.
Governed by our constitution and managed by our trustees.
The direct benefits to those we help are:
Voluntary groups and registered charities will have a greater understanding of their organisations finances, governance and statutory requirements as outlined by the Charity Commission Northern Ireland.
They will be able to plan for a sustainable future and minimise the financial risk faced by them.
Enabling them to invest more funds into their projects and services therefore directly benefiting their service users and members of the public.
We can demonstrate this by:
Showing that less funds are spent on accounting work.
Greater investment into projects and services by our clients as a result of the support we provide.
Service evaluation feedback.
Publication of our annual report.
We are here to support:
Any constituted voluntary group or registered charity no matter how small, up to an annual turnover limit of £250,000 located within any area of Northern Ireland.
For those with an annual turnover of £5,000 or less, all accountancy work here is FREE OF CHARGE* and others can benefit from our highly subsidised service specific to their individual needs. An annual subscription fee of £150 applies to all*
None of our trustees, receive any form of financial remunerations other than general out of pocket expenses, for any work undertaken on behalf of the charity.
MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS INCLUDE
Accounts preparation and independent examination of accounts:
More and more funders are requesting that voluntary groups annual accounts are presented in a specific format governed by guidelines provided by the Charity Commission and that they have been independently examined by an individual who is qualified to do so.
Although there is no requirement for groups with a turnover of less than £10,000 to have this done, it does provide funders with information they need in assessing funding bids and demonstrates good practice and financial management of the group by having their accounts prepared and independently examined.
WHEN USING THE ABOVE SERVICE, WE CAN ALSO OFFER YOU THE FOLLOWING
We can also provide you with payroll services for as little as £6 per month each employee all in. This includes all elements of payroll processing, paying staff direct & dealing with statutory elements to the Inland Revenue including year end returns, P11d's, P60's etc...
If you do not employ staff then it is the responsibility of the Treasurer to ensure that proper books and records are maintained which as a volunteer can be time consuming and tedious at best. At CASNI we offer very affordable bookkeeping solutions which we can do ourselves or provide you with simple templates to make the job easier and more time effective.
12 months advice included with your subscription:
